Process
Being tasked with taking a Wikipedia article of the album Parallel Lines by Blondie, this poster was created in my Publication Design class at DePaul University. Feel free to download the PDF version if you want a closer look at the typography.
I first read over the Wikipedia page a few different times to become familiar with the text; I then listened to the album a few times as well. I also researched the band Blondie to get a better feel for them. I thought the lack of color would put the focus more on the information. The angle the type is because it reflects Blondie and the album. The angle creates a feeling of rushed movement which Blondie was writing the album last second. Additionally, the lines reflect the name of the album and helps the eye move around the piece.
Reflection
I am very proud of the piece because I took a large amount of information and was able to display it in a way that is clear and still evokes the feeling of the artist. I would continue to play with the typeface choice, and maybe look at others that are not Helvetica.
