Tasked to hand letter the phrase "Latte Love" in a combination of script and non-script, resulted in a art deco inspired piece. As I was researching art deco type. I soon realized a script style piece is very uncommon.  Below is a handful of sketches as well as the process of the work.

I was also given a stock image in which the lettering would be on top of. The stock image would need to be cropped into a square. I digitized the hand lettering my scanning it in and using the pen tool in Illustrator, vectorized it.

With the stock image in mind, the now digitized piece was filled in green. This shade of green reminds me of branding for a popular coffee chain and the drop shadow was added for further legibility.
